Good PR Example: Facebook Invitation

Facebook is no longer a social network open to strictly college students with an “.edu” email address. It is now public and available to anyone capable of signing up for an account. Many businesses are beginning to catch on to the trend and become members of the “Facebook World.” They are even now known to get a glimpse into future employees’ lives by checking out how they represent themselves on their Facebook Accounts.

Many businesses and companies also see this social network as a way to engage in effective PR for their causes. After all, it is a free, accessible, world-wide, network that can reach millions of people- with the ability to achieve the snowball effect over night.

I received this “Facebook Group Invitation” which is for the Carolina First Saturday Market. In my opinion, this is a good PR example because it is informative, interesting, enticing (made me want to attend the market event), and reaches a very large audience. Not only are the original “invitees” informed of this event, but they have the ability to pass along this free information to additional friends who might be interested. Check out this effective PR example!
